Keys to Successful Parenting

Parenting greatly influences the complete life cycle of child development. Child development is the growth of a child from all domains including physical growth, mental growth, emotional growth, social growth and spiritual growth. All these stages have a great impact of how bad or good parenting skills are.

It is important that parent teach the significance of mannerism, discipline, self esteem and love to their children. Here are some of the essential keys to successful parenting.

Roots and Wings: Give roots and wings to your children. By giving roots we mean that give them the freedom and confidence to face obstacles and hurdles blocking their path. Roots also epitomize the virtues and values you give them. Even though they are free to move their own path, they should remain intact to the imbibed virtues. By giving them wings you are giving your children the freedom to fly their own way and meet their own destination.

Confidence: Positive attitude towards your children is also very important. You should have confidence in your children and should believe in them.

Achievable Dreams: Your vision for your child also plays an integral role in your child development. If you have high dreams for them and you pressurize them to achieve those dreams, they'll end up doing nothing and will also become aggressive. See a vision or dream that is achievable by them.

Teachings: Teaching them with school books and notes is not enough to have a healthy development. You also need to teach your child the essence of virtues, values, privileges and responsibility. Make them realize that they too have some responsibilities in life.

Discipline: is another key to successful parenting . If you are disciplined in your house and outside, then your children will also learn the same attitude and virtue from you. Any misbehavior from your end may impart a bad view to a child's mind and the child may become stubborn, rude and unfriendly.

Encouragement: This also plays a vital role . Encourage your child to do what he likes to do and what you think is right. Do not ever encourage him to do something that is wrong and against your teachings and principles. Encouragement from parent's end helps their children to be self-motivated and dedicated in their work and life.

Priority: If you are a working parent , then make sure that you prioritize your child. Give him a feeling of belongingness and ownership. Make your child realize that you are there for him anytime he wants you.

Individuality: Every child is unique and has his or her own individuality. So do not ever compare your child with your neighbor's child. They both are different and have different opinions, capabilities and thinking. Born in different backgrounds and at different period of time, makes them two different individuals who are totally different in all domains. So, learn your child's individuality and recognize his strengths, weakness, likes, dislikes and even his abilities.
